Municipal Day 2026 recap

Written By Steph Girgen

We had over 30 attendees join us at our nursery in Hastings for Municipal Learning Day on August 18, 2026.

Keynote speaker, Laura Irish-Hanson, Extension Horticulture Educator from the University of Minnesota, spoke on Climate Resilient Trees for Minnesota. Laura’s handout on Underutilized Trees for the Urban Landscape can be found HERE.

The grant presented by Rachael Dvorak of the MNDNR at Municipal Day is called the 2026 Protect Grant (the full name is: 2026 Protect Community Forests for Community Resiliency). Find more info HERE.
