If a Tree Falls and No One’s Around, It’s Still on Your Punchlist (Differentiator #4)
#4 of a 4-part series: What makes Hoffman & McNamara Different?
Hoffman & McNamara's 50 Years of Planting the Future is made possible by dedication to maintenance after the installation.
We take a proactive approach to maintaining landscapes, making a plan for aftercare before the job even begins. Our estimating staff can tailor a contract to your specific needs: Some clients require 2 years of maintenance including watering, replacing dead plants, scouting and spraying for pests, mowing or removal of weeds, and even submittals of scouting reports 2 times/month during the growing season, and once per month in the off season - a total of 38 reports over the life of the contract. Or, if you simply need temporary help with watering for the first season as things get rooted in, that's an option too.
SO, WHAT’S WITH THE PINK PAINT?
A maintenance client reached out to us recently asking why a tree had been cut down on their project and the remaining stump painted pink?
Once installation is complete, H&M Project Managers hand off any applicable maintenance contracts to our Maintenance Superintendent. In this case, the contract covered tree replacement over a certain warranty period, so on a regular scouting visit when our maintenance crew noticed the loss, they cut down the dead tree, marked the spot with paint and reported back to the PM so that a replacement tree planting could be scheduled ASAP, all without our client having to lift a finger. Plus, maybe we just like pink, OK?
The client was blown away by the level of integrity Hoffman & McNamara showed by proactively solving the problem without having to be asked, ultimately keeping it off their to-do list.
